Jurassic Park Velociraptor

It’s time for a movie monster. The Jurassic park velociraptor! Some of you guys might wonder why I label this creature as a monster and here’s the explanation:

Jurassic Park has been my favorite movie since early childhood, and the raptor besides being plain awesome was a very scary addition to the fauna of Isla Nublar. The brutality of T-REX was of cause also frightening, but to me there’s just something very frightening about a predator roughly the size of you or me, hunting with a high intelligence.
So why am I only labeling the Jurassic Park velociraptor as a monster and not the real world counterpart, you might ask? Well, the knowledge in the field of paleontology continues to expand, and today we know the velociraptor actually had feathers in contradiction to the scaly creatures portrayed in the movie. BUT if you’ve seen the movie, you know that it makes quite a big deal out of dinosaurs evolving into birds, so you have to get them credit for that!

Another thing is that in real life the velociraptor was the size of a turkey and would therefore probably not pose as big a threat as portrayed in the movie! … or in the novel for that matter :)
