Alright you guys, it’s time for an extinct creature. This time it’s the dinosaur from the Jurassic Period, Stegosaurus, enjoy!The name stegosaurus means “roof lizard”, and was given to the creature in 1877 by Othniel Charles Marsh. The dinosaur is quadrupedal and looks really unique. At first sight the creature looks like something from another world, it kind of looks like a living tank. Down its back are plates which function is unknown. Some paleontologists have speculated that it would use these plates to regulate its body temperature. Others suggest that the creatures might have used the plates to frighten each other and predators or perhaps impress females. At the end of its tail are also 4 powerful spikes which it probably used to defend itself!
The Stegosaurus is a very popular dinosaur and has appeared in countless games and movies. My favorite appearance will have to be the scene in Jurassic Park the Lost World, where a group of these animals defends their offspring from human intruders. There are some other pretty memorable scenes in BBC’s Walking with Dinosaurs that features this beautiful and bizarre creature as well.

SvarSletSweetness. Stegosauruses are pretty sweet creatures. I believe the plates are for sexual purposes. I mean, if I walked into a club with sweet plates coming off my back and a wicked spike-laden tail, I would literally have to scrub off all the pussy that would get thrown at me.
