How are you guys? Today is time for yet another “cryptid” creature. Meet the famous Loch Ness monster or Nessie as it’s also called!
I am sure most of are already familiar with this illusive creature, so bear with me if you already know what I’m about to tell you ;)
Nessie is a sea serpent like creature that allegedly calls Loch Ness Scotland its home. Along with Bigfoot, the Yeti and chupacabra it is one of the most famous cryptozoological creatures! The sightings of Nessie actually go as far back as the 7th century, but it was in 1933 that the legend really gained popularity when a couple from London visited the Loch. The couple claimed to have seen a strange creature and the husband stated that is was "the nearest approach to a dragon or pre-historic animal that I have ever seen in my life". One year later the most famous picture was taken of the beast called the Surgeons photo which is what you see on the illustration. Even though it is the most famous picture taken it has recently been proven fake. But just because one picture is fake doesn’t mean the tons of eyewitnesses, footage and other photographs are.
There have been hundreds of sightings of Nessie since the “boom” in 1933, so maybe this case more than just a myth? There are a lot of different theories as to what people are seeing in the Lake. Is Nessie simply a school of fish fooling the eye? Is it a big sturgeon, perhaps even a whale? Or could it even be a surviving plesiosaur?
Give me YOUR thoughts!
