Candiru (Real Monster)

Hello everyone! This Tuesday we’ll have a true monster, a monster from reality. Say hello to the Candiru.

The candiru is a parasitic freshwater fish, belonging to the group called catfish. It lives in the Amazon river were it, if possible searches for a host it can feed upon. How is the Candiru a parasite then you might ask? Well, this small catfish swims up your rectum, vagina or penis and hangs on. If it crawls up your urethra you need to get the monster surgical removed, since it is barbed.

Normally the Candiru searches for a big fish where it will attach itself to the gills and suck blood. But hey, it’s just a fish, it can make mistakes! So if you’re in the Amazon river and need to pee, for your own sake get out of the water first!!!

What a monster, huh? And this one exists! If you guys have suggestions for other creatures let me know in the comments :)

Graboid (Movie Monster)

Alright guys it’s Monday, and that means I’m back with another movie monster for you! This time it’s a creature from a 1990 cult classic, meet the killer worm from Tremors; The Graboid!

Tremors is a horror comedy featuring actors such as Kevin Bacon & Michael Gross and actresses like Reba McEntire & Ariana Richards. The movie wasn’t that successful, but it has grown to have quite a huge fan following. It spawned 3 sequels and a TV-series also featuring the fiendish burrowers!

 The antagonists of the Tremors movies are the Graboids. They are fierce predatory creatures that live underground. The inspiration for the graboids is the cryptid Olghoi Khorkhoi which I previously have made a post about. The Graboids can be seen as 3 different types in the movies, the first one resembles a giant killer worm, the shrieker which almost resemples a small theropod dinosaur and last but not least the Ass blasters. No, I’m serious that’s what they’re called! The ass blaster kind of looks like the shrieker but it has the ability to glide and to spew flames out of… yeah you guessed it. Much like the real world bombardier beetle, just with flames not acid, right?

And I'm back!

Yes guys, I'm back from Copenhagen. I must say I had a really good time with some buddies and there were a lot of cool merchandise mainly from Starwars at the convention! Some of you guys have asked for pictures, but I don't have a camera that works at the moment, yeah I know that kind of sucks...



But all in all an amazing trip! In my next post, you can read about a new monster, if you've missed that part of my blog!

An Important Message

Hello guys, I have sad news for you today! I won't be able to post tomorrow since I'm going to a film / comic / game convention a long way from here!

The Convention is called Collectormania and will be held in Copenhagen. It is 30 years since The Empire Strikes Back was made, this means a few of the actors including Boba Fett and Darth Vader will be there!!!
